    Well, I would remind you that this guy probably already has a massive treasure chest of licks in his repertoire. So new licks may very well have a lot more competition to get into the regular playing.

    From my point of view, with givone I'm not really learning new licks, but rather position based note maps of the fretboard from a GJ perspective. I can already tell that many licks I've already learned are covered by these maps, and I intend to adjust any new lick I learn to fit into one of the forms.

    Frankly, the more I practice these forms, the more I think this is the best book by FAR that I've seen in terms of general phrasing/not getting lost/ etc.

    Agreed. It's the most helpful method I've used (and I've tried a few!). AND... I'm enjoying it.
