.......I've been playing this beautiful song for many years. it was made famous by Nada Mamula in an old movie. It is considered the "National Anthem" of Sarajevo.
If anyone is interested after listening to the youtube video done in her later years, I can post the chord progression I transposed off a library cd. The melody is pretty easy to play.

You beat me to it, I was thinking about making it a part of GJ repertoire but never did.
One reason is that I thought it would be somewhat challenging as the song isn't in a conventional bar count.
I'd be interested and thankful if you could share your take on it?
Thanks for bringing this one to people's attention.

Yes, 19 measures in the form along with chords that sometimes change half way thru a measure and the 1 1/2 measures of Am at the end requirers some focus when playing with others.
.................I just play it as I heard it by letting the tone of the chords ring without chopping them off like GJ la pompe. I hear this song as a melody driven folk song in a slow march feel, so simple bar chords sound good to me like the G and C shapes.
.................Here are the chords I use:
/ Dm E7b9 with B Bass note (Bdim?) / Dm Am / Am / E7 / E7 / Am / Am G / Am / G/ G / G / G C
/ C#dim Dm / E7b9 Dm / Am / Am E7 / E7 / E7 Am / Am /
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Rocky
Yea just like you said, others in a group pretty much have to know and be familiar with song's melody, you can't rely on it's form.

They did such an amazing job not just performance wise but arranging it too, really great!
