2003 David Hodson guitar, played by Fapy Lafertin on the album De Pitto's Gypsy Passion. I bought this from Fapy in Holland a few years ago; its one of the few guitars he considered to be a good instrument. Classic Gypsy sound and great volume. Spruce top and Macassar ebony back and sides, unique pearloid binding. Records very well unlike the cheap imports. Hodson passed away a few years ago, so no more of these guitars will be produced, making it a bit of a collectors piece in addition to being a workhorse instrument. There is a slight and permanantly stable crack on the upper left bout, a good place to get one if you need to...at this point you can see a finish flaw, but it was repaired by Oliver Marin, one of the best selmer style luthiers in the world. Oliver also installed a bone support piece for the tailpiece and made a custom cocobolo bridge. Comes with a sleek jet black Eastman case. 2900 plus shipping.
