Friends, I've been transcribing Oscar Alemán's Delicado, as I was unable to find it on the Internet.

I'm posting the chords for your review and input, to anyone so interested.

My ears believe to be correct, but I welcome opinions, particularly with that sub-dom Bm7b5...

Thanks.

Jimmy

  • hey jim, I think your ears are quite right, i've been transcribing the tabs of the oscar aleman guitar in delicado, it was a hard job, but harder will be learn it, cause I can't play it yet, oscar is so fast in the song, some parts I can't follow him.. so.. if u want i can send it to you, it's a great song from a great composer from my country Argentina. also if u did it too i would love to take a look of it haha..

Interesting tune, thanks for sharing it, Jim. I thought my Oscar Aleman double CD had all of his good stuff, turns out I was wrong!

I've been messing around with Oscar's version of "Blue Skies"

The pitch is debatable, could be either Em or Fm but my suspicion is that it's Em because I suspect that the rather rustic-sounding violinist would have found the latter a lot more user-friendly.

So far I've just messed around with Oscar's first chorus, which is basically the melody with a bit of tasteful embellishment.

I'm open to argument on this point, but to me it sounds as if it's all being played out of one position, between frets seven to ten. Within that neighbourhood, he finds a lot of nice unexpected and swingy notes, check it out!

Paul Cezanne: "I could paint for a thousand years without stopping and I would still feel as though I knew nothing."

Edgar Degas: "Only when he no longer knows what he is doing does the painter do good things.... To draw, you must close your eyes and sing."

Georges Braque: "In art there is only one thing that counts: the bit that can’t be explained."
