It should cost about 25% of that price by usps. Not to mention that ebay sellers often offer free shipping, even to foreign countries.

That's more in line with what I expected, JG. 100% item cost to ship, that's crazy.

Doing a quick search on usps:
    20 x 20 x 20 box of 45lbs costs ~$125.
As for customs, if the item is yours you probably won't have any to pay... unless you buy it without taxes.

    Rob--

Was that the Favino copy? Cyril brought that guitar to my room one afternoon for me to try, and I really liked it.

hey mike. the guitar i had brought with me was the guitar cyril had made a year before. any guitar that cyril personally brought to you was one of the 2 models he brought with him from europe specifically for django in june.

mine was the white colored d-hole.

    soundboard: european spruce
back and sides: laminated indian rosewood
    neck: american black walnut
    fingerboard: ebony
    bridge and moustaches: indian rosewood

Maybe that was it. Cyril brought one to me that he said belonged to someone else, I thought I understood that someone was from New York, but I'm not sure. I may be misremembering if it was the Favino copy or not. By that point in the week, I was operating on about 40-50 brain cells, and my blood consisted of a rare blend of single malts. I know I played a Favino copy, but I remember that the one I liked best was not one of the two he brought, but rather that privately owned one.

Has anybody compared the sound of an AJL Gypsy Fire to an Eimers Quattre? Just curious how they compare.
