Hi All,
I am adjusting an older bridge and I just can't seem to get it to rest cleanly on the surface of the soundboard. I've attached a photo that shows the light coming through. What grit sandpaper to you guys use to do this? I'm using 300, but I'm thinking now I need to get much finer.
I'm using Josh's technique (posted in this forum), so I'm surprised I still see little gaps. I'm going very, very slowly and I see from the dust on the sandpaper that it's taking off material in the right places, but it's still not flush. I'm pretty sure I'm not rocking it. I am moving the bridge up an down (in line with the neck) rather than side to side, as I am assuming the geometry is more consistent in this plane.
Thanks!
I don't know whether I'll ever be an excellent player if I keep practicing, but I'm absolutely sure I won't be if I stop.
