JWC Guitars.

Does anyone have any experiences with this luthier, and would care to comment on the sound, playability and workmanship of his guitars?

He seems to offer some impressive specs on his guitars, all for a price well below other luthiers who provide the same options - stuff like traditional pliage, selmer type headstock joint etc. Almost seems too good to be true.

he used to be associated with manouche guitars as far as i recall, the partners split the company and he started his own brand with one of them. as far as i've read and heard, positive things about his work, but no first hand knowledge.

i´ve never heard or played them, but they do seem very nice. If you go to the dealers page, you´ll find a danish dealer - maybe you can arrange to try them if he stocks some.

Doesn't answer your question, but sounds good.

I have three JWC guitars, a 12 fret D-hole, a 14 fret petite and a four string plectrum guitar. They are top notch instruments that sound great, play great and look great. The fret work is fantastic the bindings are just like the originals, they have proper Selmer style tuners and the woods are of a high quality. My D-hole (#371) was ordered with the top pliage and all standard woods, euro spuce top, beautiful Indian rosewood back and sides, wood bindings ect. it sounds fantastic, is very responsive and plays like a dream. I have the PU varnish on mine and it is apllied perfectly and not too thick! These are by far the best Selmer Replicas I have heard and played and are a great value for your dollar. I have played Duponts, US made Dell Arte's and many other copies and had the pleasure of owning two original Selmer guitars and I can honestly say my JWC guitars are the best for a brand new Gypsy Jazz Guitar IMHO.
If I were to order another I would go for the 14 fret D-hole for sure. Feel free to message me if you have any specific questions.

    Hi
I just joined the forum and noticed this thread.
JWC guitars are fantastic. I picked up a 14 fret D last september, and I'm just knocked out by it (and so is anyone else who picks it up). All I can say is that it's a stunning instrument, beautifully made, with a beautiful sound.
Tony Walker is a lovely chap to deal with, and Jeongwoo Cho is incredibly knowledgeable and passion about his work, and an amazing craftsman.
You can see my guitar on the JWC website, in the Gallery section, number 385.
PM me if you'd like more information.

    cheers
