Old-timers at Djangofest NW and the Portland gang know what a great guy Pete is. His Gypsy Jazz bands included Kung Pao Chickens, Django's Tiger, and more. Please take a moment to let Pete know you care. Thanks AE

A true gentleman - and more than any other person, the father of the GJ scene in Portland... hell, more that GJ... he has played so many styles: Western, Swing, Indie, Punk. He has been gigging & touring since before he could shave. He has shared the bill with household names and has given opportunities to unknown musicians. If you look up the term: "Working Musician" in the dictionary - his picture is there.

But in addition to being a truly kind hearted person, he is also a tough son of a bitch. The battle is far from over for him. If you know Pete, you know what I mean - and if he's helped you, then help him now if you can.
You get one chance to enjoy this day, but if you're doing it right, that's enough.

I 2nd all of what Bob said..Pete is one of the best fellows you could wish to meet; without Pete, the Portland GJ scene wouldn't be what it is today. Pete started the long-standing GJ jam at the Moon & Sixpence Pub where we all met. His love of this music and encouragement to others learning this style is greatly appreciated by all who know him.
keep wishing Pete well and spreading the word...
    cheers

For those not familiar with Pete and for those that are, here's a nice clip of his classic vocals with his "Stolen Sweets" band:

For those that like to ogle, apart from the ladies, you also have the option to see, what I believe is an early model Holo guitar being played by David Langenes...Pete's playing his '94 Dupont.

    Rock on Pete!

    cheers

    Phil
