The jamman works with xp. And there used to be a piece of software called loopers tool that does the same thing as the digitech software, but he seems to be out of business now.

I used a JamMan for a long time and really liked it (the original two pedal version). That model just showed up as an external drive when you connected to your computer with the usb cable (both PC and Mac). That was great because you could just drag and drop loops between the JamMan and the computer. I was really looking forward to "upgrading" to the new JamMan Stereo with four switches, but when I tried it I was disappointed to find out that you needed to install "JamManager" software to be able to connect to your computer. Furthermore, the software wasn't even available for Mac at first (apparently it is now). I returned the JamMan Stereo because of this and bought a Boss RC300, which connects to a PC or Mac just like an external drive. Too bad Digitech chose to go that way with the JamMan.
