Being that Gypsy Jazz is it's own genre you don't necessarily see alot of guys like Angelo or Stochelo playing bop standards. I been 'gypsy jazzercising' post bop standards or bossa jazz for a while. Just wondering what other people get into besides the gypsy standards? :?: DJANGOisGod 8)

Rosenberg Trio played "Cherokee", and Jimmy learned Stochelos version and recorded one that is heavily inspired on the album "Trio".
Bireli has played Cherokee too, but with his trio it is always hard to categorize it. In the videos where he plays that tune I guess the music has one foot in jazz manouche land and one foot in bebop land. Intetesting though.
"Donna Lee" is not unusual either, many players like that one. There's a video on YouTube with Gismo Graf and Diknu Schneeberger playing it. Check that one out!
"Groovin' High" is played by many people as is "Pent up House", two bebop standards.
