Hey guys, I've been playing my Gitane DG-250M for about 4 years now and am looking to upgrade. Still love the guitar but it's seen better and days and I feel it is time to move on to something new. I would consider myself at an intermediate level of playing and am just wondering what kind of guitars you guys would recommend for that next "level". My budget would be anywhere between 1000-2500$.

From most of the threads I've read there seem to be many that Love Duponts. The entry Dupont Nomade model is available here @ Djangobooks for $2100 plus shipping.

There happens to be a 10 year old Nomade on Ebay for $1300 plus $60.00 Shipping.
I don't know anything about it other then it listed yesterday.
:?: It's hard to buy something you haven't touched seen & heard. Personally I've gotten two great Guitars off eBay. They did have an evaluation period to return it though. The above guitar is no returns. I'm kind of gun-shy of those Auctions. But $150.00 shipping to and from if your not happy could get costly.
Be great to walk into Djangobooks meet Michael and see and play whats available there.
Good Luck hope you find a guitar that opens many new musical doors for you.

What is your advice on buying guitar sight unseen. :?:
Seems most eBay stuff doesn't have a retutn policy,
Where would you suggest looking?
Thanks pickitjohn
P.S.
If it is a (living) luthier instrument, drop a mail to the luthier himself and ask him what he thinks about it (most of the times they will answer you!)
Michael doesn't carry them but Gypsyguitar.de sells them. Shipped from Germany though so if you are in the states that adds a couple hundred bucks I think.
Hmm I've never considered Alta Mira, seem like a decent guitar at a pretty good price. I've checked out he Nomade too before as well. beautiful guitar. I'd have a hard time buying without trying, can't really afford to be taking that risk haha. Actually... I am going to be in Seattle in July, I should pay Michael a visit.
