How to embed youtube videos

How can I make youtube videos in my posts? What do I have to put between ?

Irritating, isn't it?

The forum software can only handle bog-standard, simple YouTube URLs without any playlist, referrer or other additions. It also hates the now-standard (secure) https/ prefix.

This, for example, will work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAZhHXsknd8



This, conversely, won't: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACGHxR7pH_c&list=PL866B5792471795C6



So, two things you have to do to ensure a youtube URL will work:

- Remove the

s at the beginning if you have it in the http(s) prefix;
- Remove, if you have it, anything after the ampersand (&) - actually, remove the ampersand too;
- Pester Michael to find an updated version of this plugin so you don't have to do either of the above

you can't use the .be links, instead use: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSU4AykFs_Q

Yeah, that helps a lot, thank you! The great thing is that with your help I now learned that a thing called "ampersand" exists and what its role was in almopst driving me crazy by not allowing me to include videos in my posts...

WOW, that tiny little ampersand was playing the spoilsport here and I was thinking that it was may be my browser problem. Not to mention, read all those tricks wasting my time. :shock:
