This is a 2010 Dell'Arte Hommage Oval Hole I bought directly from Alain in January 2011. It plays and sounds great, and I'm only selling it for financial reasons. Here are the specs:
Solid Spruce Top with spots of bear claw
Solid Koa Back and Sides
Walnut Neck
Ebony Fretboard
Ebony Tuners
Bigtone Pickup installed by John Kinnard (sounds very good for a bigtone, not quacky)
I have gigged and played this guitar a lot (lots of 4 hour background music gigs) and I play hard so it has scratches on the top near the bridge, as well as a few dings here and there. Also the area where my arm rests on the top is a little darkened from the heat of my arm. The frets are fine, and the neck is thicker but not like an old Busato. I was told once by a knowledgable gypsy jazz fan that the tone of the guitar reminded him of Tchan Tchou's tone. It has a thick midrange. I have also seen the surprised look on a few gypsy jazzers' faces when I told them I was using the bigtone to amplify it (using a Bose PA system). The guitar has really opened up from playing and sounds much better than when I bought it. The action is low (2.5mm I think?) and it plays great.
This guitar goes between $2700-$3300 depending where you buy it. I'm asking $2150 including shipping and paypal fees, since I think paypal is the safest way to make the transaction because they hold the funds until you receive the guitar. I also understand that buying a guitar that you've never played online is risky, so I'll offer a 48 hour return option, no questions asked, with the buyer paying shipping both ways.
Please email me for sound clips and more detailed pictures. Thanks!
