ALD guitars are different then the new ones?
I am looking at buying a used 2008 and would

yes, the ALDs have evolved quite a bit since 2008. I was selling them back then and they have improved the design in numerous ways, including better tuning of the top and generally cleaner, more precise workmanship. But the older ones are still nice guitars and generally sound really nice.
