attaching lapel mics to guitar ideas?

colorado_hickcolorado_hick Hotchkiss Colorado✭✭
I have D-hole Dupont, and a AT 481 lapel condenser mic with the guitar adapter ( part 8444). The problem is that the bracing in the d-hole comes close the edge and it is hard to clip it on.

Can folks share some practical experience for connecting these to their D-hole guitars? I thought about taping it on the inside. I am looking to a natural woody sound for rhythm playing. If i take a lead i have a piezo i can punch in (but it sounds horrible with chords)

Thanks!
