Like Django, Hendrix made innovative used of diminished triads, octaves, and 9th / m7b5 voicings... There’s several references to gypsies in Hendrix’s songs and lyrics (Gypsy Eyes, Vodoo Chile – “Well my poor mother cried out ‘lord, the gypsy was right!’") And of course there's the live album with a Band of Gypsies…
