I saw Yorgui in 2003, at a festival ín my hometown of Linköping, and back then was already a marvelous player. I really like his tone, it's fat and juicy and he masters the djangolicks very well. He was playing with the great trio of HCDS.
his soloing is amazing...he's got a lot of phrases, but somehow, it feels like they are all connected. i don't hear that in a lot of players, including some of the top guys.
Dosen't use the django technique, in what way dosen't he? I ask because for me shape of his right hand really reminded me of Django, ofcorse I may be just wrong. :?
he uses a lot of upstroke sweep picking and a lot of upstrokes when he plays many classic fast passages that stochelo or jimmy would play with the django picking technique
