Hey!

Just a quick post to say hello. :D
This whole "gypsy jazz" world makes me feel like a kid with a fervent desire to learn, play and share.
I get the feeling that this forum will be helpful in a myriad of ways.

So, nice to meet you all!

You have come to the right place. There is another Mexico City resident who posts frequently, and I believe, teaches gypsy jazz guitar in Mexico City. I used to live in San Angel and teach tennis at Casino San Angel on the periferico sur many years ago. Check out links for rookies. viewtopic.php?f=16&t=11834

Really? San Angel? That's amazing! It's always nice to meet someone who's been to Mexico.

There's a guy who posts here named BluesBop Harry who lives in Mexico City.

Hot Club Mexico - Jazz Manouche

You could send him a private message via your user control panel... it's not hard, trust me, just click on the little white pawn icon at the top of this page.

Since I live in Canada, I've never met Harry in real life ... but from a lot of his wise responses to questions here I rather suspect he's an ace player...

Good luck, Oskar, if you love gypsy jazz guitar, you're going to like it here.

Edgar Degas: "Only when he no longer knows what he is doing does the painter do good things.... To draw, you must close your eyes and sing."

Georges Braque: "In art there is only one thing that counts: the bit that can’t be explained."
