You are right... How ever the head stock I posted is the picture I got when I asked for pictures of the new Gallato. I passed on what I got. All that to say I think that we are all confused at this point. what I do know is that he new Gallato guitars are different then the old ones.

    Cheers

I'm still not sure that there is any such thing as a "new Gallato" -- my understanding was that the partnership between Mateo and Serge Gallato was dissolved, and that Geronimo Mateo was now building a similar guitar under his own name.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

    In sum:

When the Mateo/Gallato partnership dissolved, Geronimo began to make his own guitars under the Mateo label. Gallato kept ownership of the Gallato name and is still producing guitars with that name but without any input from Geronimo.

Jack is correct. and I think I'll have him write all explanations form now on as I am terrible at that and he did it so well in his last post.

Know this, and this is the reason for this thread is the first place. There are a new bread of Gallato guitars that are different then the old Gallato guitars.

Thanks, Jack. I was not aware of that. I presume that's what's being sold on ebay.fr? There was also a recent Craigslist post from someone in Montreal selling a Gallato for $800 -- don't know if that's Canadian or USD -- seems awfully cheap either way. But maybe it's one of these new Gallatos?
