Bridge weight and dimensions

@Jazzaferri (Jay, isnt it?) : what´s BF? anyway, the designs that i know of that incorporate CG into the bridge (not selmacs), have one (or two) tow of CF between two (or three) layers of wood. a solid CF would be odd indeed.

@Jeff: thanks for your info. I only made three bridges until now, weighting between 8.something and 12 grams. The one i liked the most was between 9 and 10 grams and made of brazilian rosewood. The lightest was indian rosewood and the heaviest (which made the sound less bright) was kingwood. I have plans to try pernambuco and a different take at brazilian rosewood. and maybe honduran rosewood if i get my hands on some suitable blank, even if it´s much heavier than brazilian.

If light is the way to go and stiff is important then vacuum formed CF or if we want to dream Boron Composite ...think F22 ailerons ..... Way stiffer and lighter than wood.
