Hi all,
In order to have something to do over summer (it's summer here) I've decided to undertake a little recording project. I'm recording and videoing a series of 24 solo improvisations on my Favino. There will be one in every major and minor key. The aim is to get better at accurately hearing functional harmony, and the harmonic vocabulary/movements - as well as the idea to take it through 24 keys - will come from roughly Bach's Well Tempered Clavier. It's still essentially a gypsy jazz project as well, and I'll be trying to focus on different picking techniques or styles in each piece, and hopefully improve my right hand in the process.
It's called "Foyers and Lobbies", as it's a collection of unattached preludes. I made a little logo...
I hope some of you enjoy it, and that the rest of you don't mind me posting them fairly regularly. I'll keep them in the same thread so things don't get crowded, and you can ignore them if/when they become annoying.
Here's the first instalment - C Major.
