Django in June

Hello everyone.
New forum member here. First post.
Great forum - lots of info for a newbie GJ guitarist. Been playing for years, but new to this genre. I was in Paris last June & was fortunate enough to spend a Sunday afternoon at La Chope des Puces, and not long after coming home, I bought an Altamira M01 from Michael, which I am loving. Thanks to the forum, I have already found a fellow GJ player within about 20 miles from me. We're attempting to work out a get-together. I'm in bluegrass country & GJ players are hard to come by, so the forum has already paid dividends for me.
I'm posting to see if someone can give me an idea of what DiJ costs for the full week, all included. I can't find it on the website, and apparently a number of forum members have attended.

With meals, it was approximately $1000 for the week last year.

When is it this year? My son's birthday is June 23 so that makes late June trips hard.

That $1000 covers accommodations, meals, lessons all day long with masters of the style, two concerts, plus the opportunity for unlimited jamming. It's the greatest bargain anywhere, and there is no other event anywhere in the world like it. Other Django festivals center around concerts and possibly some instruction, while DiJ is first and foremost a learning experience, with sessions for all ability levels.

However, it is all true afaik. I just came across an event in Belqium at the "AKDT" which seems similar but less focused on pure GJ, however having never attended I can't say how it compares.

DiJ is well worth the trip.

Great summation, Ben. I'm in total agreement. One of the best experiences I've ever had, and absolutely worth the money spent. It really is a comparative bargain, to put it mildly.
