i have contemporary Bigband-charts of "Swing Rêverie" (1946) and "Mélodie au crépuscule" (1945), both published by Francis Day, Paris. And I have an old Bigband-chart of "Menilmontant" by Charles Trenet as well. If you are interested I can send you copies.
I will be doing Nuages. 18 piece big band chart. Late March it will be played and recorded so I will hopefully be able to post the results here at some point thereafter.
Thanks everyone for your inputs and advice.
The Magic really starts to happen when you can play it with your eyes closed
A french unit called the Hot S. A. did a fun record a couple of years ago. They had one sax/clarinet, one trumpet and one trombone in the band, in addition to two guitars and a bass. Not a big band, apparently, but a lot of arranged parts for the wind instruments, very jazzy. And good singing by band members too! I like it a lot. There's very little on Youtube, but here's one example: Hot S. A.
