My Band

Ok.. this is my band playing a Django tune.. someone just sent me these clips.. the quality isn't great.. and i had to stick two clips togethor.

I'm the guy playing lead.

I do play in a more traditional GJ group as well from time to time.. I just wanted to get django's music to a crowd who wouldn't normally hear it.. so we stuck dark eyes into our set as an instrumental.

other than gogel bordello, are there any other gypsy punk bands?

I don't know about ethnically gypsy punk bands, but there are a ton mixing Eastern European music and punk. Try The Ukrainians, Zdob Si Zdub, Apparatschik, La Minor, and my friend Chris's late, lamented band, Gadjo Bango. If you want to get a bit more "out there," try Farmers Market, Zakarya, or Ne Zhdali.

Come to think of it, there is a really good Hungarian gypsy hip-hop group called Fekete Vonat.
