@Joli Gadjo . . .Cardiff UK, New Band . . . Sounds like more then a visit, is there Visa laws for you?
Your right about Denis's Course, I'm amazed, how much info, and how talented he is. A little over a year ago I was pissed because he didn't have a booklet or PDF's.
BEST TO LEARN THE GYPSY WAY.
Sure I Thought! However he's right. Not sure how long it would take to get through all 5 DVD's, but it's worth much more then the Price
Loving your old Patenotte 260, with the New Lollo Pick it's sounds even Better, THANKS.
@Jazzaferri always a pleasure to read your post. I usually have to look up a word or two, glad there's google.
Sound's like like your walkin you own advise. BEING THERE!

I recorded one chorus of the same song.
After many takes got one that's mostly right.
I guess that's where I'm at now but it took a whole morning of practice to get there.
So if I may post another one, from the space as Kenny would say, sort of...
OK I just had an epiphany and had to come here and report.
You know Jay when you say "being able to play the tune and sing it"?
Well I was just playing over Stella by Starlight when I realized I'm not familiar with the tune's melody nor can I play the chords without the sheet.
And than your line I just mentioned echoed in my mind...aha I see now.
Going to learn the melody and work on memorizing the chords first before I do any more soloing on it.
The light shines brighter when one has learned to really see.
When you can sing and chord without thinking about either.. My first guitar mentor way back when I wad knee high to a grasshopper would say play it a hundred times you know it play it a thousand times you own it.
Back when I wad young and knew everything I thought he was saying that for effect. Now I realize the real truth in it and the insights he tried to instill in my arrogant brain.
Incidentally, my test for truly knowing the melody is to break off in the middle of a solo anywhere and go right into the melody without thinking. I am humbled by the number of tunes I truly know at that level.....ah well, school is soon over and I can get back to learning the music I love best the way I want to.
The Magic really starts to happen when you can play it with your eyes closed
