Just wondered if anyone could recommend a Gypsy jazz songbook for Violin? I'd I'd like too get my daughter up and running on a few tunes so that we can play together. I'm looking for Djangology and Minor swing in particular!
Check out Denis Chang's DC music online. Tim Kliphuis does videos and music to 25 Gypsy tunes. He has a melody head and then what he calls an intermediate solo for each tune that is pretty challenging.
Any fake book would do of course. But more specifically to the violin I understood from several Violinists that Kliphuis's book is much easier to understand and to read than Matt Glasers'.
Thanks Mac i'll have a look for that pdf.
Thnaks Michael. I'd not realised the Pearl Django book had music as well as tab. It makes it look even more attractive as it has Djangology on it!
Thanks MandoBart, that looks to be exactly what i'm looking for. I can't seem to find a link for download anywhere though. Even the gypsyguitar.de site!
