mystery guitar

This guitar was in a video from Samois a few years ago. Note that it is a double florentine cutaway but on the ribs there is no wood in the cutaways - it's open. It also has a neat art deco diamond for a soundhole. The guitar is very clever in it's design and I have never seen anything like it here in the states. This guitar was being played by an Austrian guitarist

Anyway - anyone here have any information about this guitar, maker, country of origin etc?

I don't have a link for it but this came about 6 minutes into an asinine "documentary" called "Djangomania!". Don't know if it's on youtube or not - it's pretty much a waste anyway.

So - no takers except Stuart? Not even a guess?

Scot, I haven't ever seen anything remotely like it. I wish I could help, but I am stumped. Is Frater around? That guy knows more about obscure gypsy guitars than any other ten people I know. If he doesn't know, you are doomed...
I've never been a guitar player, but I've played one on stage.
