carpal tunnel syndrome?

does anyone here have it? does it affect your down stroke playing?

i´ve had it for some time (it comes and goes) but this latest attack has made it somewhat painful to play in the gypsy style (or at least trying to play in the tchavolo style... not that i can, i just try )

Yes , I have that .
Its bothersome .
I do lots of upper body and hand exercises , all of which helps. Wrist rotation , with hand weights, a routine I've been using for years. Still sometimes suffer with numbness and tingling .
Its manageable.
At least for me at this point.

You could do what Tchavolo does, put yourself on a diet of cigarettes and Absinthe and the pain will go away.

ice, exercises as Al mentioned, even therapy can work well. I have occasionally gone to a Deep Tissue guy who used to travel with Kobe and treats a bunch of NBA guys and he did wonders (I thought it was voodoo till I tried it). There is a really great band to do exercises with..
