Even Bireli in this performance says at one point how GJ guitars are harder to play than others. I was watching it yesterday and remembered reading about troubles so I figured I'd mention it here.
For me it was the scale length of these guitars that took time getting used to it. However now when I pick up my electric it feels like a toy instrument at first. Even with relatively low action on my GJ guitar it still feels as much higher string tension compared to my Martin. Both are low action but in the world of Martin that means a touch over 2mm and for GJ just under 3mm.
