Strap button

Before everyone freaks out, I know it's gypsy guitar heresy, but was wondering if anyone else stands to play? If so do you have info on where to put a button around heel? I stand as it's much easier to sing; my band is mainly a vocal onr thst covers the Great American Songbook. I currently have a button at tailpiece and strap tied at nutold school style, but there is very little room for anything but a shoelace on my Dupont and I feel like I'm risking things.
Any info, especially pics on similar situations would be greatly appreciated!

I plYed standing all summer with that setup. Used a good solid leather thong but I did had to take some pressure of the bottom 3 to get it through. I always checked it out before putting it on to be sure but no sing of anything weakening. 4 months almost every day for a couple of hours.

@Jazzaferri Glad to see I'm not the only one. You did it with Dupont? I struggled with getting leather thong through so that's why I went to shoestring. Felt like too much pressurepressure on strings to hold guitar. Like you, I check it regularly. I'd prefer leather. Perhaps I'll seek out thinner stuff.

Martin Guitar makes a very thin, but wide, strap specifically to go around the headstock behind the nut. Then a conventional guitar strap will conncet to it.

I believe there are others made in a similar fashion.

Thanks @bohemian. I kinda wondered about those but thought they'd be too thick. You're using on Dupont? I had no trouble using leather thing on my Gitane, plenty of room!
