Nube Question

New to guitar...playing about a year.

How is Yaakov playing the lead part here? To me he looks to be strumming all or most of the strings. Obviously, they are not all ringing. It looks like block chord soloing, but I can't really tell what all of his fingers are doing. Is he playing the octaves and muting the rest of the strings?



Does someone have a good explanation of this?

Michael Horowitz in his Gypsy Rhythm Book. Basically it involves damping strings with the left hand.

There may be some online lessons that are available but do some research here as to who to follow. Not all on the Internet is as it should be.

He is playing octaves and muting the strings he doesn't want to sound. Notice how wide open his hand is, and covering all the strings. This is quite normal in this style of music.
