I think they are a mixture of high tension Ernie Balls and a couple of Argentines thrown in there when I broke some strings and all I had where Argentines. Its not so much the strings that give the sound but the guitar. This Hofner Jazz president plays like a gypsy guitar, with a high action over the body so you can use a free hand to pick with, its also really loud acousticly and has a great tone, as I am sure Denis will attest to.
Thanks for everyones feedback, its really encoraging. I also apolagise for butchering Nuages by speeding it up, but it really made me laugh.

I think he is using all six strings to get that sound: low e, a, d, g, b, and high e
