Paul Mehling and Evan Price in Monterey, CA Le Club Hot (Hot Club San Francisco)

Le Club Hot, the abbreviated version of HCSF played in Monterey today at the Jazz Bash by the Sea and I was lucky enough to catch a couple of sets. The first set was a tribute to Stuff Smith and Evan Price shone on violin. Paul Mehling was on a beautiful electric jazz guitar and played admirably, Isabelle Fontaine was masterful on rhythm guitar and vocals. Sam Rocha played acoustic bass taking a solo on every song, and making each one unique. The second set was all gypsy jazz with Paul taking the lead, Isabelle swinging and singing beautifully, Sam again playing well and soloing in every song. I really enjoyed Evan Price's playing and am wondering where he fits in as far as GJ violinists? Great show and I can't wait to see them again.
