Been bothering me for ages ...... any idea who it is that talks?

... and while we're about it - who does a similar thing on Oscar Aleman's records?

Depends which recording. Sometimes it's Django. Sometimes Louis Vola and on one occasion, it's Charles Delaunay. There may be others that I can't remember for the moment.

There is an acetate made at Jean Sablon's home with Sablon, Django and Naguine playing, singing, talking "Blue Drag".

There are three tracks from this session on Integrale 4, disc 2:

    1. La jambe en bois (some talking plus Django doing some solo guitar noodling)
    2. Miss Otis Regrets (actually most of it is Blue Drag...)
    3. Blue Drag (a separate take, the one in the YouTube video above)
    None

    Thanks for the comments.....

I suppose the "Yeah!" at the end of Minor Swing must have sounded cool as anything in 1937, I've always thought it was the cheesiest thing I've ever heard on a record!

So the other voices are all sorts of people? Seems reasonable ....

... and thanks for the Blue Drag clip .... a revelation!

On the 1937 "Minor Swing", it has to be Django during the tune and Django loudest plus the others at the end.

Oh, I thought a loud "Oh yeah" at the end of Minor Swing was as mandatory as a cough at the right moment when you play Body and Soul? But you mean to say that it's not so hip anymore? So it's probably better to keep quiet? :-)
