Embarrassing moment

Took my DuPont in for a refret Wednesday. While we were looking at it he checked the insides and discovered that in addition the McIntrye Feather pickup ...placed on the treble side and caught on the edge of a brace so not sitting flat....according to McIntryes specs works better on bass .....turns out it has a mini condenser mic built in and the jack is stereo.

Explains why it sounded so terribly bright on pickup and why I only tried it on that once. Talk about not knowing ones gear ...hand covers face in shame.....

On the upside it will be interesting to try it with the transducer in the recommended spot blended with the internal mic.

Better to find out about it late than never. Now you get to play around with a whole new sound.
