Does anyone recognise the 1930's Parisian guitarist in the poor quality photo below? It's not a test. I would just like to know.

It almost looks like he could be an ancestor of Sebastian's:

Teddy, do you have any more informations? Do you know the name of the ensemble the person was part of?

Did you already made a verification if the person is Pierre Louiss? Looks a little bit like him. In 1930 he already lived in Paris, he moved there in 1926.

    Best,

He played in one of Philip Brun's bands in 1938 Paris.

    Hi Teddy,
this one is showing Pierre Louiss together with his partner Valentin Gérion (from Guadeloupe). Its from 1944. Your picture is from 1946.

The liner notes to "Creole Swing" mention that he was playing in Paris by 1926 and recorded for the first time in 1939, but no other details about his early career are given. The notes go on to talk about his brief stint in the army from 1939 to 1940 and then pick up again in 1945, when he started playing West Indian music in Parisian casinos. There's a picture of him from 1942, and he was already starting to go bald in front.

Thanks for the info on Louiss gents but I don't think it's him unless he subsequently went for some major facial reconstruction.
