Upstroke types

edited September 2015 in Gypsy Rhythm Posts: 3,707
I have been playing around with two different upstroke timings for non latin rhythms. One is palyed as a really fast gracenote like anticipation on beats 1 and 3. The other is a swung rythym type where the upstroke is played as the swung 8th of the previous beats 4 and 2 with the downstroke on the 1 and 3.

Has anyone come up with different upstroke timings?

NOTE. At speeds over 150-60 this difference becomes virtually undetectable so I dont know what Implay when I play fast :)
The Magic really starts to happen when you can play it with your eyes closed
