Tailpiece polishing

I bought an altamira a couple of months ago, and now I am slowly starting to upgrading the guitar parts. I have already ordered the tuners and now its time for the tailpiece. Since I cant find any decent tailpieces in europe, was thinking to removing the varnish and polish the brass underneath.
So if someone did it already before me and has any advice it would be much appreciated!

I did that to my tailpiece, I think I did it with steelwool, and maybe some sandpaper? If you want it to stay looking nice I'd get some kind of coating for it. I did mine a little over a year ago and it's starting to look pretty grungy. Simichrome would probably be excellent for the final polish.

Cant find a store in europe that sells them(quite funny that its easier to get an "european" style tailpiece in USA rather than in EU). I would love to order from Michael but adding the shipping cost etc I just dont have the money to afford it (atleast for now).

Wont DuPont sell one diectly. Although I had to unlimber my schoolboy zfrench on them, I found them to be extremely helpful and very quick to respond.

I see what he means, those prices are little silly, Miller tailpiece is 119 euro and Saga is 25.
