relatively simple things but envision diminished stuff with different fingerings and think of the diminished flat9 and ones straight on a chord (like start a diminished arpeggio on the root of the minor and vision the different positions...next on minor 3rd etc...try again with whole tone patterns and arpeggios and see where they interlock against certain chords and where they might move to the next change...I do this a lot...keeps me up at nite so there is a downside. You can even do this staring at the guitar for reference w/o touching it though you sure will be tempted. You might just finger the guitar w/o picking.
