Hi all, first posting....
Just saw this and it has only a few thousand viewings. Great 35 minute Dutch doc (with English subtitles) perhaps made in the early 2000's and very informative, with archive footage. Also great performances (in early 2000's). Really puts 'meat on the bone' as they discuss how the rehearse etc

Ah man, I can't get enough of that Django Quintet clip at 24'04, with Django moving his head back and forth...

I don't know if it's the same documentary or not, but there is a Dutch tv special included on the Rosenberg Trio at Samois DVD. It covers their history with many clips from over the years, and also a bit of them in the studio.

Yes, this is also on the 'extras' menu on the Rosenbergs At Samois DVD. Great film too, worth watching.

    Thanks

This is great. But I don't see the subtitles. I've sen this on YouTube before but never found a version with subtitles.
  • You have to turn them on. Top right

Nice way to spend half an hour or so, and very interesting ..... but how strange that someone would put that much work and money into a documentary and have the subtitles in pidgin English.

It is not a stupid non speaking english guy who did the subtitles in pidgin english, it is just the close captions automatically given by Youtube so there are approximations and mistakes but it helps to understand the basic meaning. Dont blame the documentarist who actually put effort in his work

On the DVD, the subtitles are better. Ay least I don't remember them being unintentionally hilarious like the auto-generated Youtube subtitles usually are.
