Hi Scot,
In the meanwhile I got my hand on all the recordings with Robert Ripa you mentioned before. So I can give a more detailed discographie:
1.
Robert Ripa et sa guitare:
"Chansons grises, Chansons roses"
Vogue EPL. 7136
Tracks:
- Le Jour (Dumont-Robin)
- Le Pain de Joie (Delécluze-Senlis-Dumont)
- Dédé Debrouille-toi (Veran-Bravard)
- La Fleur Má dit (Bourtayre-Wilmetz)
No year of publication mentioned
2.
Robert Ripa et sa guitare chanté les airs du film "Ah! Quelle Equipe"
Vogue EPL. 7252
- Chacun a sa chance (Bechet-Bonifay)
- Un soup de cafard (Bechet-Bonifay)
- Le Bidon (Rota-Blanche) du film "Il bidone)
- Le petit bistrot de papa (Lodge-Guigo)
No year of publication
3. Robert Ripa accompagné par Jean Claudric et son orchestre
Disques Ricordi 45 S 235, 1962
- Fanny (A. Gomez-R. Mamoudy)
- On entend les tambours (A. Kopelman-Y. Gilbdert)
- Il Faut (J. Bernard-P. Saka)
- Lorsque Django jouait (R. Chaput-G. Bertret)
On the first track of the Ricordi EP - Fanny - you can hear an acoustic guitar, but it is very much in the background. On the second and third title you can´t hear a guitar. On the fourth title "Lorsque Django jouait" you can hear Matelot very clearly. There is a violin as well. Scot, do you (or anyone else here) know who is the violin player?
Best,
Barengero
