Curiosities

I was messing around online this morning and found a couple of things you folks might find interesting:

http://www.renard-music.com/selectinstrumenthtm.php3

This one has pictures and descriptions of a ton of bizarre antique musical instruments. (Giraffe piano? Foot-bellows accordion? Huh?) Included in the stringed instrument section is a Selmer previously owned by Henri Crolla.

This one is dedicated to the luthiers of Sicily. It makes brief mention of several Sicilian luthiers who moved to France: Castellucia, Favino, Di Mauro, etc. It also includes photos of some really interesting instruments. I've been drooling over the Catania 11/RE, a lovely deco archtop electric.

Enjoy!

Nice site. When Crolla died, he donated all his guitars, with the exception of the Selmer he had received as a present by J. Prevert in 1938. This is probably one of those. Interesting instrument although the table might be not original, if I understand well.
