Hi,
I'll be visiting Paris later this year. I would really appreciate it if any of you might be able to recommend any places that are worth visiting? I will definitely try to visit Cité De La Musique.
I have always found L'Atlier Charonne in the Bastille area a good bet for Gypsy Jazz performances every evening, but it is now closed on Sundays and Mondays. For Sunday afternoon, you don't want to miss La Chope des Puces, and for Monday night, don't miss La Piano Vache. It is very hipster, dark and crowded and great GJ. In all of these places I mention, people are there to listen and chatting during performances is frowned upon. The L'Atlier Charonne requires a reservation to sit in front of the performers, but the food is excellent. La Piano Vache is mostly a drinking joint. Bring cash for all these places.
