How to build a stimer-like pickup?

Greeting everyone!
i've been searching a bit on the web the characteristics of suck pickups but i don't know really that much on how this kind of pickups are done, is it just a single coil with a nickel plated cover ?
I'm willing to experiment and try make one for my own curiosity's sake.

Has anyone around here built one for themselves? if so could you give some guidance of the process?

That's how Jason Krivo (Krivo pickup) got started, he wanted to make one for himself because most others are expensive. Maybe try getting in touch with him.

Take a look at Gabojo pickups (greece) on the web and Facebook. I purchased one for around £100, great sound and really practical in use.
