Thinking about interesting American players with a taste for Django reminded me of this guy, a true musical genius, the irrepressible Rory Hoffman.

Well, that's hard to beat for originality. Pretty special version of Manoir de mes Reves. His solo work is tremendous but I really didn't expect that he could handle the accompaniment too.

I'm really glad you guys liked Rory, unbelievable Tele player too. And flute and Sax, Mandolin and Banjo and probably another few I don't know about.

Here are the youtube presentations he did with the ever cordial Steve Krenz, the shockingly overlooked Clint Strong and Mr cool Jack Davenport.

First up a blistering Avalon at around 8.35.

Don't let Clint fool you, solid playing and excellent advice and if memory serves a nice Donna Lee in there somewhere.
