I just stumbled across this album of playalong tracks recorded in 1955. It's straightahead jazz, not gypsy jazz, but the old-school sound is really fun to play along to.

Track listing:

1. Easy Walkin' Blues (Bauer) 00:00
2. September In The Rain (Dubin, Warren) 2:52
3. These Foolish Things (Maschwitz, Strachey) 5:50
4. Indiana (Hanley) 9:08
5. Somebody Loves Me (Gershwin) 11:31
6. Out Of Nowhere (Heyman, Green) 14:10
7. Ghost Of A Chance (Young)16:53
8. S'Wonderful (Gershwin) 20:00

I love this. I'm actually really interested in this. The channel looks great.

If anyone knows anything about vintage play along recordings, I'd like to know!

Thanks, Adrien, top notch contribution as always.

P.S. I am from Chicago as well (Memphis at the moment). You are super cool, come back to the US and help us with Trump. :)

Barry Galbraith Guitar comping-recorded early 80s I think-somewhat related in that it is musical ideas of that era -guitar with a bass line- available from Jamie Aebersold- incredible non gypsy jazz jazz guitar
