Drummer Jacques Martinon
I found (and harassed) the son of the drummer Jacques Martinon and he was able to give me information and new pictures of this drummer, who played briefly with Django during the summer 1947. He played also with other great french jazzmen at that time.
One of the cool items he sent me is a ticket from the Germany tour with Django (for the GI) that says that the musicians on this tour can enjoy the benefits of the hotel, they can ride in the GI vehicles and they can wear GI clothes! Can you imagine Django in army clothes??!!!
