Hi!

I have had some problems with Caravan's A part where there is this long dominant 7 chord vamp. Sometime when improvising ideas kind of run off with the fast tempo. So I decided to make some licks that come from other angle and hopefully this will help me get solos more interesting in this part. If you think that these examples would help you be free and contact me and ask for tabs.

Kindest, Mikko

Thank you! Maybe #15 is most out of the style. :)

Very nice! I often do extended diminished sweep arpeggios, something like your #5 but with more variation. Gonzalo Bergara once said that when he gets lost and can't think of anything else to do he plays around with that lick for a while until he gets another idea.

Thank you! Yeah, I think that #5 lick is the most basic gypsy jazz lick here but can be variated in more interesting fashion. Gonzalo is absolute top-notch player. I like that he is very creative and musical in his playing.
