just a heads up, it's not confirmed yet, but bireli will be playing 4 dates at ther montreal jazz festival in early july. with different ensembles.. there will also be a masterclass - more like a Q&A. last year, there was sylvain luc, people asked him the dumbest possible questions...

it's confirmed, bireli will be playing 5 nights in a row, with his gypsy project, with a big band, with christian escoude, with andre ceccarelli and with alain caron

Damn, I wish big name gypsy jazz acts would show up at our jazz fest (Vancouver). All we have are some local acts and most of them are "watered down" gypsy jazz. They treat it like novelty music.
