Joscho uses lighter strings. Also he plays with the point of the pick. He traveled with out a guitar put of convenience in the past but it always bothered him so he had his luthier build him a travel guitar. He definitely prefers a faster set up considering how he plays. His guitar is interesting where all our guitars have a wolf tone on the low G his has a wolf tone on the Bb. He is now playing through a tone dexter which he absolutely loves. While it is true that every guitar he plays has a Joscho sound to it just by his technique - he is still very conscientious about his tone and all the factors that go into it. He definitely does the research and experimentation to get the most out of his sound - he thinks this is very important to take care of - though he does use D'adarrio strings when Dogals sound better :o) but that is just me speaking.
